Slain in the Spirit
"Falling in the Spirit," "Branch" or "visitation" are the most common terms used to refer to the dismay experienced by a person to be anointed with oil or to receive a prayer, with or without the imposition of hands.
It is a divisive issue, no doubt, with people for and against, with explanations and interpretations varied according to the theological formation of each. Some even say that it is of the devil, but we always have a degree of caution in judging any subject, including this one, because we find in the Bible records that many people fainted in the presence of God:
- The whole people fell "on their faces," before the glory of God - Leviticus 9:24.- Manoah and his wife, seeing an angel, "fell to the ground upon their faces" - Judges 13:20.- The whole nation has fallen again - I Kings 18:39.- Daniel fell on his face a deep sleep - Dn 09/10.- The disciples, the transfiguration, they fell on their faces - 17.6 Mt.- The soldiers who were holding Jesus fell to the ground - John 18:4-6.- The guards who crucified Jesus were "as dead" - 28.4 Mt.- Saul fell on the ground, trembling and astonished - Acts 9.4-6.- The apostle John fell as dead to see Christ Glorified - Revelation 1:17.
This phenomenon, TODAY, NOT ONLY COULD BE THE RESULT OF A FORCE PERSONNEL AS HYPNOSIS?Yes, if we consider, biblically, that the presence and glory and power of God can produce this reaction in some people, we must consider, too, that evil men (and the devil) will try to reproduce it by other means, or even falsify it. But it is not so difficult to distinguish the false from true: What is God's only glorifies the name of Jesus.
There could be a demonic possession? The phenomenon of "slaying in the Spirit" is quite different from the phenomenon of demonic possession. With a little flair is easy to distinguish them.
WHAT THE PEOPLE FEEL WHEN "CAI"?This varies from person to person. Some are surprised (and even shame), it did not expect so. Others, after fainting, are simply lying down for a relatively short time, until they recover, and then get up without experiencing a feeling stronger or special. There are those who have mixed reactions such as laughter and crying, or remain in deep silence, as if faint, or have a "tremendous sense of lightness and joy." A few expressed the so-called charismatic spiritual gifts and the diversity of tongues, visions, etc..
What changes in personal life? This depends on the person. Some stood up to be a blessing, as the Apostle Paul, but for others, nothing changes, like the soldiers who were holding Jesus.
WISH SOMEONE IS RIGHT TO HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE?Again, if we consider, biblically, that the presence of God can produce such a phenomenon in some people, I see no problem in wanting him.
