Those who persevere in Christ will be crowned

"You did it, however, for a little lower than God [or His heavenly beings] and with glory and honor."(Psalms 8:5)
First, it is important to understand that the crown of the Bible, means recognition. For example, when a king is crowned, it means that all the people recognize him as supreme authority. David here is a prophetic vision of the future Messiah would be made for a short time, human (less than God), but the crowning glory and honor. The King James Fixed Faithful (ACF) cites the same text as follows:
"For you did little lower than the angels, and glory and honor."(Psalm 8:5 - KJV)
A thousand years later, Jesus comes to earth in exactly this way: 100% man made, but crowned with glory and honor, as quoted text. Both, the author of Hebrews quotes this passage confirming it in Jesus Christ in Hebrews 2:6-9:
"Before, someone in a certain place, he gave full testimony, saying, What is man that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man that You visit him? You did it for a little lower than the angels, glory and honor Crown [and set over the works of thy hands]. All things in subjection under his feet. Now, since all things under him, he left nothing outside their domain [human]. Now, however, still do not see all the things he [human] subject; see, however, who, for a little while was made lower than the angels, Jesus, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by grace (unmerited favor) of God [to us sinners], might taste death for every man. "
This text is also showing that we are all human, despite being made smaller than God and the angels, can also be crowned with glory and honor if we persevere in doing the work of Christ right here on earth. In other words, God has crowns for recognizing each one of us. The Bible identifies five types of crown that we receive from God the Father:
1. The crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8)
Living a righteous life before God certainly imply this crown. It is not easy to live justly in a world full of malignancy, masa eternal reward will be worth by the effort to honor Jesus Christ.
2. The Crown Incorruptible (1 Corinthians 9:25-27)
It is also often called the "crown of victory." This crown is given to those who deny to themselves and their personal desires, giving way to a life of faith to serve God with faithful service.
3. The Crown of Life (James 1:12 and Revelation 2:10)
All those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake the work of Christ on earth will receive this crown. Also known as "the crown of the martyrs," she has been given to all who were persecuted and killed because of Jesus Christ. God never fails to acknowledge the efforts of those who paid a heavy price because of persecution.
4. The Crown of Joy (1 Thessalonians 2:19)
All that lead people to Christ will receive this crown. The soul-winners are those who receive this recognition of God. Paul was a soul winner. Even the angels in heaven rejoice when one is saved (Luke 15:7).
5. The Crown of Glory (1 Peter 5:4)
This seems to be a special crown given to real leaders who teach and minister the Word of God correctly, genuine and special. Can be ministers, professors, teachers, evangelists of children or anyone who makes the Word of God faithfully come to others. Such individuals do not always receive recognition in life here on earth, but will certainly be rewarded in eternal life.
This week, think about how we can be eligible to receive all these crowns from God. Are we even acting in fidelity to the Lord Jesus here on earth?
