There is great confusion about the four terms that give name to this text. We have to make distinctions not only between the modern state of Israel and the historical-Biblical Israel, but mainly with the People of God. We should not delude ourselves: Israelis (citizens of Israel, a nation founded in 1948) and the Israelites of old (people descended from Abraham, children of the 12 tribes, the sons of Jacob, the people of Judea until 70 AD, also known as Hebrews)are not exactly the same people.
Since the term Jew, however, refers to those who follow Judaism, religion cognate ceremonial practices (preserved, developed or contaminated) after the Babylonian exile. These practices are associated with the observation of principles and concepts described, abstracted or relative to what we now call VT So there may be, Israeli Christians, atheists, Buddhists, etc.. But - strictly speaking - there is no Jewish Christian. And, of course, that today, in this sense, there is a Jew, and that none of these groups (ethnic, cultural or religious) is necessarily God's people.
The Bible states that 'Israeli', or 'descendant of Abraham' is one who by faith trust in God, whom we call elected! And who is not born in the "Holy Land" or even that it is descended from Semitic.
It is obvious that there are common elements between Judaism and Christianity, and both are 'derivatives' of the Old Testament readings (Speaking in a philosophical way and / or anthropological), and more, this niche was cultural / social / religious (Judaism) that he ultimately became completely (Hebrews 1: 1). But there are profound differences that can not be ignored or easily reconciled, without an abandonment of faith.
Jews close to the truth (Christ) and it is close to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Moses did not hear or even understand David and the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah and Daniel, ignore the clear and unmistakable voice of God! In fact, not believing in Christ is not to obey Yahweh since the Scriptures (Tanakh) are clear about the lordship of Jesus. It is also noteworthy that during the 400 years between the end of that exile and coming of Christ, the assertion period of Judaism (such as culture, religion and ethnicity), God was silent. And there is a clear repudiation of Jesus by that tradition.
Even more firm and incisive than the other religions, the Jewish religious status should be condemned (as religion). Judaism with their belief system (based on the old covenant) is far from Christ, and be offensive, cruel and repulsive to all sincere Christians, because they maintain the symbols that pointed to the superior sacrifice of Christ, turns out to satirize, decrease or make fun of the substitutionary death of our savior, Jesus Christ, the only name that is no salvation!
However I must add that all religions (pejorative) - Christianity included - are reprehensible. How much try to buy the good gifts of divinity (whether with good deeds, penance, relics, devotion, obedience, liturgies, or witchcraft) to declare it (in the case of Christianity strict) dependence on Christ for salvation, not what to see (or hear) from the pulpit. But we need to clarify that this treatment (conviction) is to religion and does not (necessarily) anything with the religious (fan). This should be the target of our love.
Only Christ saves!
How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? Which having been announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard?
